I am a lousy artist, if you can even call me that . In fact (between you and me) I am useless when it comes to producing something good. I often get frustrated and angry because I can never create on paper the images in my head. I am way to critical of anything I produce. I have a bad habit of starting something and never finishing it. I am no perfectionist in life but when I try to produce something arty I am afriad of making a mistake which will look foolish on the end product, thus I dont let loose. I dont throw my full potential at the piece of paper. I often strangle out the passion of everything I create. I need to stop being so judgemental, I need to close my disapproving eyes and just push pen to paper.

When i create something its always late at night. I get a result that is kind of innocent and like an untainted love felt scribble... and i get a tiny grin adorned on my face.

Volcom Team Trip 2010

We headed down to Umzumbe on the South Coast of Durban for 5 days. Umzumbe is the perfect place to get lost for a few day and thats exactly what we did. about 15 of us all stayed in this mad, pretty much massion sized, house. It slept all of us comfortably and from the deck it had a good view of Umzumbe Point. We all spent most of our days at the beach, surfing and eating. We did however manage to trek up to Oribi Gorge to marvel over the amazing severity and bliss right on our doorstep. I fell inlove right there. Id pretty much move to the South Coast after this trip.

Alot of time was also spent just chilling outside soaking up the winter sun on the deck drinking a couple of beers and braai some wors.

the house was never quiet though. Shane brought his twins and josh, there were also 2 tiny groms (simmos and Daves), mark and his crazy guitar playing skills and well lets just say big Josh, little Josh, Patto, Qj, Chantelle, AJ, Chris, Chad and I all contributed.

Some true Volcom stuff went down like long nights and loud noises. Pool and Ping Pong Challenges and lets not forget the over usage of "chuck it in, mate" If the slogan was 'LETS GET SIFF' you must know how good it was.

...LEAVING DAY :( FOR CHUNKEY TRUCK

I had a strange feeling this morning. It was like... was almost surreal. I feel like I should have be having some kind of profound thoughts, but I did not. I just kept thinking: This is it. This is it. This is it. And other than that, I'm a lonely kid whos best friend and twin sister has left.

Allies, partners in crime, rivals...

We fought, we patched up. We laughed at jokes that no one can understand. We said some of the meanest things to each other. We defended each other when others won't. We did some of the silliest things together and there's so many stories to be recalled when we are together.

Through some of the harshest times, we became muted to one another. Yet through it all, the coldness will eventually thaw and melt away and we're right back to where we've left it, that is, like nothing has ever been missing...

Border is the best hands down. SA champs in St Mikes 2010 was one of the best trips ever. WE cleaned up. Everyone was stoked and proud to be a border team memeber during the event. Can I just say 10 out 16 people were in the finals! Thanks to Greg, Wayne, David, NIkita, Laurie and the rest of the team for bringing the magic!
